World-class art. Small-town welcome.

ARTHOUSE was built on a simple idea: art this good should not require a trip to Houston, Austin, or New York. Collectors Jeanne and Mickey Klein opened ARTHOUSE in April 2026 to share their collection with anyone who walks through the door. Admission is free. No ticket, no reservation, no airs.

Words Matter

Artists who put language at the center of their work: Ed Ruscha, Jenny Holzer, Faith Ringgold, Kenturah Davis, Terry Allen, Nicholas Galanin. Some pieces make you smile. Some stop you cold.

Architecture worth the trip on its own

Arthouse was designed by Lake Flato, the Texas firm whose founders earned the AIA Gold Medal, the American Institute of Architects’ highest honor. Clad in Texas Lueders limestone beside a 1910 post office, the building lets a light-filled gallery and a contemplative Japanese courtyard do the talking.

World-class art and architecture should be accessible to everyone, and we hope this exhibition space inspires curiosity and connection.
