Texas Collectors Open Marble Falls Arthouse

by Nicholas Frank

Glasstire covered the public opening of ARTHOUSE on April 25, 2026, and led with the collection rather than the building.

The report introduces Mickey and Jeanne Klein through their record in Texas art: leadership roles at The Contemporary Austin and the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, and support for the Whitney Museum and the Hirshhorn. It describes a 2,000-square-foot ground floor given over to rotating exhibitions from their collection, which the Kleins co-curate, and names Ed Ruscha, Jenny Holzer, Kenturah Davis and Faith Ringgold among the artists in Words Matter.

The Kleins tell Glasstire that world-class art and architecture should be accessible to everyone, and that they hope the exhibition space inspires curiosity and connection. The piece also credits Lake|Flato with the building and Sada Uchiyama, Curator Emeritus of the Portland Japanese Garden, with the courtyard landscaping.
